At Ironing Fairies we aim to impress, however, we cannot work miracles!
Items which have been laundered without fabric softener, dried whilst creased or left in a tumble dryer for long periods of time can sometimes be very difficult to iron. Every effort is made to remove creases from these such items but we cannot guarantee perfection.
Extra charges are based on the time taken to iron very creased items and also items with extra detailing, such as frills, linings, pleats and delicate fabrics.
Shirts/blouses are ironed with creases running from the shoulder to cuff of sleeves and will be returned on hangers. Extra charges will be made for the request of sleeves without creases and the return of folded shirts.
Items will normally be ironed on the right side except in the case of plastic or iron on motifs, velvet, corduroy and delicate fabrics. If many items in a single order are received inside out we reserve the right to iron and return items as received.
Ironing is carried out as close to the return time as possible. The laundry bag provided is meant purely for transport purposes and we recommend that items are removed promptly to avoid creasing.
For hygiene reasons we are unable to iron any items we believe to be unlaundered or unclean. We are also unable to iron items with a ‘no iron’ symbol on the care label and also items stained with solvents such as paint or glue which may cause damage to our equipment. These such items will be returned unironed but still charged for.
Cotton percale bedding with a high thread count and cotton sateen bedding can often be almost impossible to iron successfully. The silky sheen of the fabric does not allow the penetration of steam.
The extra ‘add on’ charges do not apply for children’s clothing under the age of 8 years and will be charged at 70p each.
